My name is Erica Kobren. I am a recent graduate of the School of Visual Arts, where I majored in Computer Art. I specialize in motion graphics and digital photography. I’ve been interested in computer graphics since high school, where I took my first CG class. I learned the ins and outs of Adobe Photoshop, and then moved on to Illustrator and InDesign.
In between my junior and senior year of high school, I was accepted in to the Savannah College of Art and Design’s Rising Star program. Rising Star was essentially 2 college level art courses condensed into 5 weeks. There I took basic drawing and a CG class, where I got my first taste of Maya.
I graduated high school in 2005, and entered SVA intending to study 3D Animation, so I could go on to enter the video gaming industry. However, I fell in love with motion graphics after taking an After Effects class.
I love to read and learn new things. I’ve essentially taught myself digital photography. I’ve been interested in the subject since high school, when I started doing photo manipulations in Photoshop. In the summer of 2008, I put my skills to the test when I did a 3 week intensive digital photo class in Florence, Italy.
My senior year at SVA was dedicated to my thesis, Oneironaut.
