April 2009 This is my Computer Art thesis. All of the footage except the hawk was shot by me. The lines were all hand-drawn, frame by frame, in Photoshop. The color was done in After Effects. Music: Escape into the Twilight by Skrypnyk. Download for free from OC Remix. A more detailed description can be found on vimeo!
October 2008 This assignment involved motion tracking 3D (Maya) text into handheld footage. For the motion tracking, I used both PF Track and After Effects.
April 2008 My first complete project using rotoscope techniques to animate video frame by frame. My final motion graphics project for my junior year. I’m a big Doctor Who/David Tennant fan, so I took some clips from the new series, and animated each frame. I then overlaid them into a video I had shot of my sketchbook (and my hand!), creating a Doctor Who sketch “come to life”. Music: Snowfall on Forbidden Lands by Sephfire and ceili. Download for free from OC Remix.
April 2008 One of my abstract pieces, experimenting with video feedback. I use for my portfolio DVD menu (It loops nicely.) If you never heard of video feedback, basically it involves hooking up a video camera to a TV, and recording the TV screen. You get a lot of nice abstract patterns that way. After I recorded the video, I imported it into After Effects and adjusted and animated the color to sync with the music. Music: M4 (Part I) by Faunts.
February 2008 This assignment was to enter a contest run by Subaru. The entry was supposed to be a 30 second commercial with an “Urban Latino Feel”. The car images were provided by Subaru, and the rest of the elements were scanned in by me. Used After Effects. Music: Rainin In Paradize by Manu Chao.
January 2008 A short video self-portrait. (Yes, that’s me!) I love the artwork on the shirt I’m wearing, so I decided to animate one of the birds flying off of the shirt. This was done in about a week, using video footage that I shot myself, rotoscoping and animating the bird in After Effects.
November 2007 Handheld, greenscreen footage keyed out. 3D particles and background are all motion tracked. Music: Sora’s Folktale by Yoko Kanno.
April 2007 Group project to create an iPod commercial. I helped film, and I animated the rainbows in Photoshop. Final composite done in After Effects. Music: On My Balcony by Flunk.
